George King Bourke

Born in Ireland on July 14, 1858.

Bourke arrived in the U.S. in 1898. After a few months in Phoenix, AZ, he moved to California. He lived in Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula for a few years and then settled in Sierra Madre about 1911. A horticulturist by profession, in his leisure he painted scenes of the Wild West and cowboy genre. He died in Los Angeles on March 29, 1930. In: Library of Congress.
