Bryan Tarter

Bryan Tarter was born September 9th, 1956 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Bit and Buzz Tarter.

He grew up in southeastern Montana on the family ranch on Three Mile Creek near Ashland. He graduated high school in 1974 and went to college in Sacramento, California.

Bryan worked construction in Gillette, Wyoming. He worked hydroelectric around the United States and in several foreign countries, returning to the family ranch in the early 1990’s. He now owns the ranch with his wife Shannon. They have a daughter Faith, and a son Blair.

His mother grew up on the Bones Brother’s Dude Ranch at Birney, Montana and his father, also an artist, was in naval aviation during the Second World War.

Bryan has always had Western roots and an affection for the traditional western art produced by the now deceased artists of the early 1900’s.

Bryan paints western themed pictures he sells locally and at several galleries. His paintings are of his own mind, not photos. He enjoys the struggle….
